Caregiver Support Grant

Are you exhausted from being a family caregiver? Do you wish you could take a little break? This $500 grant administered by Alzheimer's Arkansas may provide a chance for you to catch your breath!

Through funds awarded to the Central Arkansas Area Agency on Aging, Alzheimer's Arkansas is distributing grants to support family caregivers living in their six-county service area.

This $500 grant is allocated for a family member or friend who is caring for someone with a chronic illness to take a break. But what does that mean, exactly?

If your loved one is awarded the grant, you may choose a home care company like us to care for your loved one, allowing you to get out of the house, run errands, get a much-needed massage, whatever you need to do to take care of yourself during this process!

The grant can be awarded to one care recipient (your loved one) twice per fiscal year (July 1-June 30), but families must wait 6 months before requesting a second grant.

The care recipient (your loved one) must:

  • Be 60 years of age or older

  • Live in Pulaski, Saline, Monroe, Prairie, Lonoke or Faulkner county

  • Have a diagnosis of any chronic illness that requires a caregiver

  • Not receive like-services funded by other sources (Medicaid, Medicare, AR Choices, etc.)

Please visit the Alzheimer's Arkansas grant section for more information and to download an application today!

Remember to choose FAVOR HOME CARE as your home care provider when filling out the Caregiver Support Grant application!
